It was an impressive turnout for the Akaka Falls Lions Club’s quarterly Adopt A Highway Litter Pick Up and Akaka Falls State Park beautification service project last month.

Twenty-three Lion’s Club members, one Companion In Service member and eight family members pitched in to pick up litter from Honomu junction, through Honomu town, and up to Akaka Falls State Park.

Participants also picked up and stripped dead ti leaves, and trimmed grass around plants Lion members had planted previously at the park.

Lions Kent Inouye and Kenneth Enoki spearheaded the two service projects.
